Paintless Dent Repair or PDR is the most effective dent repair process.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At PHMS we specialise in Paintless Dent Repair, a technique known as PDR.<\/p>\n

Most people don’t understand the paintless dent removal process, and we are here to explain this method.<\/p>\n

What is PDR? <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The PDR technique has been used for more than 30 years in Australia. \u00a0Paintless Dent Removal is the process of removing dents, dings, creases and hail damage from vehicles without the inconvenience and expense of traditional panel shop repair methods.<\/p>\n

PDR maintains the originality of your vehicle and is less intrusive than traditional repair methods.<\/p>\n

PDR is quick, high-quality and one of the most environmentally friendly methods for dent repair. \u00a0This process relies on the skills of highly trained PDR repair technicians and a wide range of specialised tools.<\/p>\n

It is a common misconception that hail dents are sucked out using some form of suction cup.<\/p>\n

Contrary to this, our skilled team of technicians use a series of specialised hand tools and techniques to gently and expertly massage the damage from the inside of the panel. \u00a0This restores the panel to its original shape, leaving the Manufacturer’s original paintwork intact.<\/p>\n

During the repair process, Paintless Dent Removal does not<\/u> require:<\/p>\n

    PDR Process Explained: <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. Most dents are accessed from the underside of the panel. \u00a0Our expert Trimmers start the repair process by gently releasing the headliner of the vehicle. (The headliner<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0is usually a composite material that is above the occupant\u2019s head and attached to the inside of the roof.)<\/li>\n
    2. Taillights are then removed to gain access.<\/li>\n
    3. Next, the bonnet and boot lid or tailgate is removed to improve ease of access and a higher quality repair finish.<\/li>\n
    4. In most cases, the doors are not removed and will remain on the vehicle. \u00a0PDR tools access door dents through the window cavity.\n
        \n
      • Modern-day vehicles have lots of Manufacturer’s holes, allowing PHMS technicians easy access to the dents.<\/li>\n
      • Our specialised lighting allows technicians to see the smallest of imperfections on your vehicle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • A technique known as glue pulling is used on panels in hard to reach places.\n
          \n
        • Tabs are glued to the dent with a special adhesive then either a mini-lifter or slide lifter is used to manipulate the dent.<\/li>\n
        • The glue is released using a quick spray of release agent. The paintwork is left unaffected.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • Specialised equipment called a “T-Box<\/strong><\/span>” is used to help repair dents using heat.\n
            \n
          • The T-Box sends a low electrical current through the dent, allowing the Technician to manipulate the dent and release the tension returning the panel back to its original shape.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Note: <\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

            Traditional repairs may still be needed for very deep dents if the metal has been stretched or if there is a crack in the paintwork.<\/em><\/p>\n

            Vehicle mouldings that are damaged during a hail storm are replaced with new OEM<\/em> (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts.<\/em><\/p>\n

            Length of Time for Repairs:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

            A typical PDR repair takes five days.<\/p>\n
