When the skies opened up over Rockhampton on Sunday, April 19, about 3pm, it wasn’t just raining, hailstones pelted down as well.
Many owners whose vehicles were unavoidably left out in the open, in the path of the storm, had frustration, uncertainty and concerns raining down on them, too.

PHMS had teams on the ground the next day, April 20, preparing the Rockhampton End to End Repair Facility.
- Two repair complexes were sourced, and leases signed within one day: a paintless dent repair facility and the other, a conventional repair facility.
- Assessments commenced on Thursday, April 23. Only 4 days following the event.
- The first vehicle was repaired promptly and delivered back to the owner on Anzac Day, April 25 – less than a week later.
- The conventional repair facility was set up and running by Friday, May 15, with full End to End repair capabilities.
- In total, more than 600 vehicles that received extensive damage in the storm were repaired.
- Of those, 400 vehicles required a combination of PDR and conventional repairs to bring them back to their pre-hail condition.
- The seamless operation resulted in all vehicles being repaired to an ultra-high standard quickly and efficiently ensuring customer satisfaction.
- The repair facility closed on Friday, September 4.
